Welcome to Drake Lodge, Tavistock.
Originally built in the late 19th Century, Drake Lodge has a rich history much like Tavistock itself. Fully refurbished in 2010, Drake Lodge is proud to offer older people support and companionship in later life.
We have 17 en-suite rooms and one en-suite flat plus a communal lounge and dining room. We also have a purpose-built function room for activities and presentations, large enough for all residents and volunteers to socialise together.
Drake Lodge is a wonderful place to live where everyone is treated with respect and love. We have an active social committee who regularly organise activities such a quizzes, coffee mornings, speakers and fundraising events.
We are fortunate to be located in the flourishing ancient stannary town of Tavistock, situated on the edge of Dartmoor and just 12 miles from the ocean in Plymouth - we have the best of both worlds. Food and craft markets are often held in the town centre alongside an abundance of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Opposite the house is a bowling green, tennis courts and swimming pool which residents are welcome to use.

I have worked at Drake Lodge since 2010 and enjoy my involvement with our residents. I am proud of our Society and the standards we achieve, and envisage being here for many years to come! We have an excellent team of staff and who work hard to enhance the quality of life of our residents.

I joined Abbeyfield Tavistock after completing a placement here whilst at Catering College. I like all aspects of the job and enjoy creating nutritious recipes for our residents to enjoy.
