Our supported living accommodation offers a family atmosphere with affordable, high quality living for people who want to be as independent and self-reliant as possible without the worry of maintaining their own home or cooking meals.
We have eight studio apartments and two one-bedroomed flats, all with en-suite facilities. All apartments/flats are unfurnished allowing you the convenience and comfort of having your own things around you. A private garden with a conservatory also means you can sit out whatever the weather.
We personalise our services to meet your needs so that you can enjoy security, peace of mind and freedom from chores. Our aim is to help you stay independent for longer, enjoyably.
We’re continually looking for ways to improve Abbeyfield House, ensuring it meets the changing needs of our fantastic group of residents. Over the past few years, we have carried out extensive work on the property including the addition of a car park, a new porch area and a new front door automatic entry system. We’ve added storage space for three mobility scooters and a covered charging point for them, as well as fitting brand new bathrooms and updating the dining area.
Situated just a short walk from the centre of Ripon, you will never tire of things to do. There are many shops, restaurants and cafes as well as a market every Thursday. You can catch buses every 20 minutes to neighbouring Harrogate, where there is a train station with links to the rest of this stunning county. Ripon has an ancient watch setting ceremony going back to 886, which is performed by the horn-blower at 9pm every night in the market square. The ritual has not been missed for even one night in over 1100 years. We’re also just a 10 minute drive from the stunning Fountains Abbey National Trust World Heritage site.
We offer plenty of opportunities to have some fun with the other residents whether that be at a quiz, game night or a musical performance by one of the many talented local music groups. Residents have attended wine tasting and art classes together as well as taking part in the knit and natter sessions that go on in our local churches. We have trips to Studley Royal for tea by the lake in good weather or simply pop out to enjoy a fish & chips lunch.
We make birthdays a special occasion here, with residents inviting family and friends to join them for the celebrations if they wish. At Christmas, we have a delicious festive meal for residents and staff.
We’re a small house, with a family feel. Visitors often say they can feel the warmth in the atmosphere when they come in.
Abbeyfield House is managed by Abbeyfield Ripon & District Society Ltd.
