Set in the wonderful seaside resort of Lytham St Annes, Abbeyfield House is a warm and friendly house surrounded by stunning views and a beautiful sandy beach. The house is made up of two houses, the first purchased in 1972 and the second in 1987. After two years both were converted to make Abbeyfield House and the first resident moved in in 1989.

Lytham St Annes is in fact two towns set in the picturesque Fylde coastline just six miles from Blackpool. Both towns are full of character and atmosphere. Victorian St Annes has an expansive sandy beach and pier whilst ‘leafy’ Lytham has a historic windmill and Georgian hall. Both towns have pretty parks and boating lakes as well as stylish independent shops. The house is within walking distance of the sea front and near to Lytham town centre. There are also nearby bus stops with services to St Annes, Preston and Blackpool.

The house has 11 ensuite rooms which are fitted with carpets, curtains and modern fitted storage units which combine wardrobe and kitchen space with a small fridge and sink. The rooms are otherwise unfurnished so that you can have your own furniture and possessions around you.

We have a communal lounge, dining room and reading room which are often used by our residents to spend some time to relax or to socialise with other residents. We provide a warm welcome in our two traditional houses providing sheltered accommodation on the Fylde Coast. We provide a main meal at lunchtime each day and a tea supplied by our friendly staff using fresh produce.

All birthdays are celebrated by residents and at Christmas there are festivities and a party. On Monday afternoons there is poetry reading and Tuesday afternoons there are regular activities including exercises and quizzes.

We like to organise trips to the local theatre, Lowther Pavilion and local establishments for afternoon tea.

This house is managed by the Abbeyfield Lytham St Annes Society.
