Features
Located in Dulwich, London, Abbeyfield House provides sheltered housing for residents who want to live and remain as independent as possible in a homely, peaceful and friendly environment with support when needed.
Abbeyfield House is an Edwardian house built in 1904 which was renovated in 1998, with many of the original features of the house preserved and mixed with contemporary features. We have six single flats and one bedsit, all with en-suite facilities and kitchenettes. All of our rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring their favourite pieces of furniture from home, along with photographs, ornaments and trinkets to really personalise their room.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our service, providing our residents with a friendly and family atmosphere, where you’ll confidently find that you’re in exceptional hands. One of our founding values was the importance of friendship and companionship, here at Abbeyfield House, we have a group of staff, including volunteers, who are all dedicated to creating a friendly and caring environment for our residents.
We’re proud to be well connected to our local community, with shops, cafes, pubs, doctors, dentists and opticians all within walking distance from our home. We’re close to Brockwell Park, Belair and Dulwich Park, and bus and train services are also nearby should you wish to travel further to the West End, the City or further afield. Some popular yearly events held locally include concerts, plays, art shows and events including Heme Hill Music Festival, Dulwich Literary Festival and the Open Gardens Weekends.
We understand that peace of mind is highly important, our housekeeper checks on our residents every day and can provide assistance when needed, and each flat has its own doorbell and pull cord, and residents have a watch-like wrist device which they can use in emergencies to connect to the Warden Call system.
Abbeyfield House is managed by the Abbeyfield Dulwich Society.
