Features
Welcome to Campbell Snowdon House, a residential care home situated in the peaceful countryside of Quarrier's Village, just thirty minutes drive from the city of Glasgow. Our beautiful sandstone house provides accommodation and care for people over the age of 65.
Although each room is fully furnished, we fully encourage residents to bring small pieces of furniture, a television, pictures and any other personal effects that will help to make their room feel homely. Bed linen and towels are supplied which, together with personal clothing, are laundered on the premises at no extra charge.
We have a large communal lounge where many of our activities take place, and there is also a television for communal viewing. We have a garden room/conservatory which is the perfect place to relax, read, watch television and socialise. Our south-facing patio that overlooks the stunning countryside is a popular spot in the warmer weather.
All main meals are provided, together with refreshing teas and coffees at regular intervals during the day. Wherever possible, we source our fresh food locally. Meals are served in a very pleasant restaurant style dining room, but if preferred our residents can choose to have their meals in their rooms. Our two cooks know the importance of preparing good nourishing food and love trying out new recipes and ideas.
A variety of entertainment, events and activities are available to join in with. With our Activity Co-ordinator and with the involvement of our volunteers, we are able to meet most of the activity needs and requests of our residents.
In house we organise arts and crafts groups, chair yoga, film nights, music groups, poetry group, spa days and quizzes. A church service is held fortnightly in the House. For days out, we organise shopping and garden centre outings and theatre and cinema visits amongst other trips to places of interest. During the warmer months we have organised sailing on the Waverley, weekends away and plenty of activities in the garden.
Treating our residents with dignity and respect is at the heart of our ethos; helping each individual with the daily functions they can no longer complete for themselves while encouraging them to retain as much independence and autonomy as possible.
To fully appreciate the warm and caring environment we provide, we would encourage you to visit us and meet the team.
Campbell Snowdon House is managed by the Abbeyfield Strathgryffe Society.

The work of the Activity Co-ordinator and the staff team is complemented by our active and enthusiastic volunteer group, 'Friends of Campbell Snowdon', whose members bring a much appreciated social dimension to the lives of our residents. Activities vary according to the time of the year and the interests of specific residents who are consulted individually and via the Residents Focus Group meetings.
