Nursing Homes
Nursing Homes provide the same high quality personal care and support that you would receive in any of our Residential Care Homes but with the added benefit of round the clock qualified nursing care.
Our Nursing Homes provide the highest level of medical care outside of a hospital setting. There are always qualified nurses on duty who, together with a skilled team of care staff, provide care for people with complex physical and mental health needs.
Your dietary needs and preferences will be assessed and catered for. We provide high quality home cooked meals and can support with managing complex conditions such as diabetes, eating difficulties such as dysphagia, or providing nutrition and hydration via a PEG tube.
All of our homes offer an active and varied activities programme and our Nursing Homes are no exception. You are warmly invited to become part of a welcoming and active social community where you can enjoy favourite hobbies and pastimes or take the opportunity to try new activities and interests.
There are comfortable shared social spaces such as lounges and quiet rooms, and peaceful gardens for you to enjoy with fellow residents or with visiting family and friends.
Personalised care
Before you move in with us we will meet with you to complete a comprehensive assessment of your needs. You don’t need to have a nursing needs assessment via the NHS but it is advisable to have one. This is because people who have been formally assessed as needing nursing care rather than just residential care are eligible for a financial contribution from the NHS towards the cost of the nursing element of their care. This benefit, which is not means tested, is known as Funded Nursing Care, sometimes also called the Registered Nursing Care Contribution. In some cases, the full cost of the nursing care will be paid for by the NHS through Continuing Health Care funding.
Safety and quality assurance
You can be confident that all our nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and our Nursing Homes are registered and regulated by the relevant governing body. Like all our services, our Nursing Homes are subject to rigorous and continuous internal quality monitoring and assessment, assuring the highest possible standards of nursing care and accommodation.
Our Nursing Homes are regulated by:
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) – England
- The Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) – Northern Ireland
- Care Inspectorate – Scotland
- Care Inspectorate - Wales
We routinely rank highly and use what we learn to share best practice and to continuously improve the quality of our services – and ultimately the experience of our residents and their families.
