Weymouth Society Ltd
The Weymouth society offer sheltered housing and care home facilities for older people. We run two properties and strive to offer the best possible care and attention to all residents.
Legh House is a single storey building originally built on land owned by Mrs Catherine Dowman. It was purpose built to be used as a residential care home for The Dorset Association for the Care of the Elderly and in 1979 was given to The Abbeyfield (Weymouth) Society.
Legh House seeks to provide a comfortable home within the traditions of the Abbeyfield movement. Offering each resident a comfortable quality of life, responding to their individual needs and tailoring services to meet their choices wherever possible.
The society also run Macpherson House, a sheltered accommodation for the elderly. This home aims to support resident but still allowing them independent living.
