Ferring Society Ltd
The Abbeyfield Ferring Society was founded in 1980 by the late Bill Cornwell and his wife Joan. Today the society offers sheltered housing for 11 residents at Old School House, care home housing facilities for 20 people at our Cornwell House Care Home and a Care at Home service in the community.
The Society is governed by an Executive Committee of volunteers who, together with Jacqui Swindells our Chief Operating Officer, are responsible for the running of the home. Their primary concern is the wellbeing of our residents and clients and the maintenance of our quality homes, along with the development of services for our older population within the local community.
The service managers are responsible for the day-to-day running of all our services and this is overseen by the CEO. Our manager Lorraine Richardson has a wealth of experience in care and has great empathy with older people. Sarah Rodgers manages our domiciliary service providing a friendly, reliable and caring service to our local community. Sarah also is responsible for a centre based services at our day centre in the middle of Ferring village, where we run a variety of services for local people. The venue is also available to hire.

Our homes
Old School House
Located in Ferring, Old School House was built in 1985 and it consists of 11 flats. It's a home from home with support when you need it from our professional and caring house staff and volunteers.
Two delicious meals are provided every day; enjoyed together with other residents in our communal dining area.
Cornwell House
Located in the stunning village of Ferring, Cornwell House is a converted building that was registered in 1992, accommodating 20 residents in 20 single en-suite rooms. We believe in allowing our residents to remain as independent as possible, and are supported by a dedicated, caring and friendly team.
