Thank you
One of the things we pride ourselves on at Abbeyfield is our connection to our local communities. Our homes can often be found on residential roads, near to churches or schools and form a big part of the character of their town.
We regularly share posts of school children and volunteers visiting our homes to meet our residents, perform a talent, help with coffee mornings or just popping in to say hi.
Over the past few weeks we haven't been able to have people pop in to visit and whilst our residents are keeping themselves busy with crafts, exercise and activities, we still miss our friends.
That's why when you send us letters to wish us well and hope we're keeping safe, it warms our hearts!
Your letters make us smile
Take Westall House - they have has so many wonderful letters they've been able to create a display in their garden room!
The letters have come from local preschools, primary schools, children and grandchildren of our staff members, and even a letter from as far as Hertfordshire (over 80 miles away!).
Between the staff and residents, they are trying to respond to the letters but they feel almost as busy as Santa in the lead up to Christmas!
You can read one of the lovely letters below.
A letter from Daniel
Hello, my name is Daniel.
I am home from school at the moment. I'm writing to you to put a smile on your face.
I love animals. My house is a zoo. My pets range from cats to frogs. I have a beautiful cat called Dave, he is black and white and fluffy. I also have a very lazy bearded dragon called Stone. He is so fast and likes to eat bugs.
Love Daniel
Our residents have been so touched by this they wanted us to say a massive thank you and we hope to see you all very soon!
If you would like to write to the residents of your local Abbeyfield house we'd love to hear from you. Find your local house here.
