Caren scoops national award
We are delighted to announce that Caren Fowler, Housekeeper at Holloway House in Quorn, has won the Housekeeper Award at the inaugural Housing with Care Awards!
The Awards, run by Care Talk Magazine, are a new initiative presenting accolades to individuals and organisations that demonstrate excellence in accommodation and services provided to older people and other vulnerable groups.
Caren beat off stiff competition from nine other finalists in her category. The judges said, “We loved the way Caren thinks outside the box and goes above and beyond in her role. She is always thinking of new creative ideas and implements this into her work from themed events to being creative at meal times. It seems like she plays a key role at Holloway House and they are lucky to have her!”
A relative of a Holloway House resident said, “Caren has always been so kind and considerate to both my mother, myself and my brother. She is always thinking of different ways to engage people at Holloway House – be that through an arts project, last year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, or keep fit exercise classes.
“She was the first person I met at the house and she inspired trust and a genuine authentic sense of caring for the residents she supports through her work.”
Congratulations, Caren – your award is very well deserved!
